Hi everyone,
It was great to see so many of you on Friday. As always, I came away really inspired and bowled over by everyone's enthusiasm and passion for BFL.
This time we looked at the wide variety of ways we bring play in to learning and it's pro's and con's. Perhaps not surprisingly, there were a lot more positives than negatives (Keep an eye out for the photos which will be sent to all members and act as a reminder to those of us who were there). We spent a little time thinking about how to avoid the negatives and felt that by giving careful consideration to the terms we use, timings and objectives we could avoid any potential concerns.
Thanks again to Bryony and Steve for giving us an excellent opportunity to experience the benefits using their new life size game. Not only was there much laughter

we also had some serious and valuable discussions about the values of the group. This really helped us to agree and cement the groups values going forward. I wonder whether we would have achieved and retained as much without the game?
As we had limited time, we decided to come up with a number of core values beforehand and (after a challenging but healthy debate between Stella and I) we proposed the following:
Development
Expertise
Exploration
Co-operation
Leadership
Professionalism
Make a difference
Challenge
During the game we aimed for our values with discussion about whether they were the right values and why, with a number of interesting scenarios thrown in along the way.
Everyone was asked to pick the value they felt should be most important for the group (not just from the above list).
Please let us know what your value was (would be)and why.
After lunch we had some fantastic suggestions within the Clinic and Janet, Andrew and Danny have, or will be posting, more about these.
Finally, the next BFLG meeting in the south is on 27th November - at a secret location!!! I will tell you more nearer the time but make sure it is in your diary as I can't wait to see what you think.
Best wishes
