Who are we?

We are a very friendly, growing, professional development group with a curiosity about the brain, people, creativity and learning.

We have a fantastic range of people with different skills and interests and we are all really passionate about continuously improving our own performance, so that our employers and our clients get the best results from investing in learning with us.

What do we do?

When we first met we asked the group what their aims were – when someone said he wanted to share and spread the benefits of brain friendly learning with the whole world everyone clapped. So that’s what we do!

Click here to see a video of one member who thinks "you learn the most amazing stuff without realising you're learning it" and "it's the least money you can spend for the most information about training".

When and where do we do it?

We have quarterly meetings, usually on Mondays or Fridays from 10am until 2:30pm.  Follow the links for details of meetings in the South and in the North.

When you join you will be sent details of the Brain Friendly Learning Discussion Group on Linked-in. This is a great way to keep in touch, share ideas and benefit from the combined knowledge and experiences of the group.

How do we do it?

Each meeting has a really effective structure:

  • 90 minutes of new learning on a wide range of topics – learning is guaranteed to be brain friendly and readily applied.
  • Topics so far have been: Brain Friendly Learning – Myths and Reality with Kimberley Hare; Unconscious Learning with Anthony Shearn; Food for Fit Brains with Ann Grindrod and Helen MacKinlay; Brain Friendly IT Training with Gavin Meikle and Jonathan Stevens; Experiential Learning and Brain Friendly Learning for Sceptics with Stella Collins.
  • Knowledge sharing amongst BFLG membersThen we have a brain friendly working lunch which provides a great chance to meet other learning professionals.
  • The Learning Clinic – an opportunity to ask the experts and share knowledge about real life challenges.  Our members tell us that it’s been really useful to have other people’s brains to pick for ideas – which have been immediately implemented back at work.

Why join?

It doesn’t matter whether you’ve never heard of brain friendly learning before today – or you’re already one of its seasoned advocates; we’re all here to learn!

Our only request for you to join us is that you are committed to promoting enjoyable, memorable and useful learning – learning which gets workplace results.

If you’re happy with our request, we’re really looking forward to welcoming you to our group – you will bring your own special talents that we can all learn from.

And if you need any more reasons to join – you will also get exclusive offers on Brain in Business resources and workshops; offers which will only be available to the Brain Friendly Learning Group!

Thanks to all of you - it was superb. I was so excited after intense months of providing for others, to be doing something I could be a participant in. And it ticked more than all the boxes I came with. Thanks again - really was excellent and generous of you all. Leaders in learning most certainly!
Clare Haynes, Wildfire.

It was a great day. I really enjoyed myself and learnt a lot. I am definitely interested to be part of the Group.
